Lumosity is a brain training program, founded by Kunal Sarkar in 2005. This organization has been consistently focused on researching and developing the most effective cognitive training applications. The activities on this website were designed to improve memory and attention. Scientific research has shown that the health and function of our brains can be improved with the right mental workouts. Lumosity was designed by some of the leading experts in neuroscience and cognitive psychology from Stanford and UCSF. According to the author of this website, the games have been shown to improve cognitive functions. Users of the website have reported clearer and quicker thinking, improvement in memory for names, numbers, directions, increased alertness and awareness, elevated mood, better concentration at work or while driving. The activities inclusive of games such as: bird watching, raindrops, speed match, lost in migration, word bubbles, speed memory, attention flexibility, problem solving, brain training, brain games, brain tests, and memory games. This is a free site; however, you do have to create an account to participate in the basic activities. If you want to explore more brain games than what is allotted in Lumosity basic there is a fee. The second website I found is Brain Based Teaching and Learning. This is a teacher resource website call A to Z teacher stuff. Brain Base Teaching and Learning is about techniques that were implemented in a specific teacher’s classroom by Eric Jensen. The instructor depicted characteristics of a perfect student, interesting student, and groaner student. The educator sets goals for each category of students. He / she asserted the techniques that were used, the results, and how it relates to the brain. After implementing all the strategies, the teacher affirmed if he / she had achieved the desired goals. This is an awesome website it includes other links relating to the brain and learning. Also, if you create and account with this company you can purchase books related to the brain.
